AGM
The annual general meeting of the club was held on Monday the 18th of January 2010, in the staff room (formally the refectory) at 7.30pm, the highlight of the evening was the appointment of Lindsay Stewart as the new president of the club along with Graeme Paul and Hector Hawley Groat becoming vice presidents. Traditionally the informal part of the evening continued in The Doctors afterwords, when the new vice presidents stood the members a drink.
Spring Meeting
This year will take place at Dunbar on Sunday the 25th of April. As usual there will be two rounds with the morning round the medal and qualifying for the A&B championships and the afternoon will consist of a team game possibly involving the infamous pink ball, we hope to be able to offer a very competitive price for two rounds of golf over a championship course.
Summer Meeting
The Muirfield outing will be on Thursday the 8th of July, with the first tee time at 4.30pm. The Ronnie Middleton Trophy is a more gentle altrnative to the challenge offered by the Honourable Company, over Gullane no3.
Musselburgh Evening
A change of date resulted in an increased attendance at the fourth summer challenge ovr the Old Links at Musselburgh Racecourse where the use of old hickory clubs added to the fun.
Autumn Outing
This year we are returning both to an inland course, in fact the two of them at Kinross, as well as moving the day back to Sunday the 5th of September.
Winter Greensomes
Last year's Greensomes champions are Graham Leslie and John Richardson who defeated Bryan Chatham and Doug Imrie in yet another match played over Gullane no1 though not in the winter. Pairings for this year's competition were again drawn from two pots, links members and others, so that we should have decent winter venues. A lot of matches were played before the snow set in. Format is again round robin plus semis/final to give everyone a few games.
Annual Dinner
The Annual Dinner will be held at Goldenacre on Friday 8th October, last year we returned to a more traditional format with food being served before the speeches, the principal speaker was Peter Brown former president of Glenbervie Golf Club, who managed to elborate fully on life in and around Falkirk and much more besides. Over 100 members and guests enjoyed a great night as well as seeing the splendid Grafton Morrisch trophy back in Heriot hands.
